5.1 has shipped and is what you run today. This is Microsoft’s published plan for what comes next, with the caveats attached.
Dragon Copilot 5.1 is now the current release — here is what actually shipped, including the planned items that landed differently. Microsoft’s roadmap has moved on to October and November. What follows is that published plan, as of Microsoft’s September 15 roadmap update and subject to change — written so you can prepare without pretending any of it has shipped.

5.2 — planned for October
Patient matching Physician
A traffic-light indicator that the patient in the active session matches the chart open in the EHR. United States; Dragon Copilot desktop; and only in environments where that EHR pairing applies. It is a safety control, not a cosmetic badge — and it will not appear in every stack.
Spanish (US), nursing public preview Nursing
Spanish (US) speech support for bilingual documentation in supported nursing workflows. United States, public preview, on the nursing app and the embedded experience. Preview means it can move; do not staff a go-live off a preview flag.
Flowsheet profile manager, enhanced Nursing
An enhanced, centralized place to create, edit and maintain templates and profiles, with bulk management, automatic preference saving, and a choice between administrator-managed or user-selected profiles. Profile selection itself is planned as a public preview on the embedded experience. Microsoft is also renaming service line to care setting across the nursing admin experience. United States. Voice Automated will configure this with you; we do not publish the console path.
Analytics that match how you actually manage people
Nursing: usage reporting, trend drill-down by site / unit / role, and EHR identifiers that match what administrators already maintain. Physician: summary totals in the Overview and User engagement dashboards (Microsoft’s 5.1 notes already list these — see our 5.1 breakdown), deleted sessions in session-level KPIs, filters for primary specialty / user type / role, EHR ID on user tables, cleaner role labels, and a split between Dropped users and a new Drop risk gap aligned to lapsed users (active in 30 days, quiet for 14). Mix of United States and all-region items — we will scope yours against the live table at enablement, not against this summary.
6.0 — planned for November
Better default Physical Exam and Assessment & Plan templates Physician
Microsoft plans enhanced default templates for these two note sections, aimed at clearer organization and consistent output. United States. If your clinicians rely on custom templates for these sections, compare them against the new defaults when 6.0 arrives rather than assuming either wins.
What this does not change about Dragon Medical One
Foot-pedal support has already shipped in 5.1. The 5.2 items are about safety, nursing operations and reporting — not about making the new product feel like the old one. If your clinic is productive on Dragon Medical One today, stay productive. When 5.2 ships, the conversation is which items apply to your environment — not whether you should have paused.
Ready for 5.1?
Standby mode is off by default and depends on 5.0’s enhanced interface. That is the current-release work.
Weighing the move from DMO?
The living, version-by-version scorecard. 5.1 is current. 5.2 and 6.0 are planned on top of it, not instead of it.
Psychiatry notes this cycle?
The note-model and ICD-10 naming change already shipped. The psychology note updates Microsoft listed for September did not appear in 5.1, so that page is still the current reference.

Those dates are plans and are subject to change. We will update this page when 5.2 publishes as a product release.

No. The 5.2 items are a safety check, nursing operations and reporting, not a signal that Dragon Medical One is a stopgap. If Dragon Medical One is working in your clinic today, keep using it. When 5.2 actually reaches your environment, the question is configuration and training, not whether you should have paused.
