Dragon Copilot 3.6: Multilingual Documentation in 58 Languages, Auto-Generated Clinical Letters & Mobile Nursing Platform (2026)

Physician and patient in a diverse clinical encounter using Dragon Copilot multilingual ambient documentation
Voice Automated  |  Product Updates  |  April 2026

Healthcare organizations serving diverse patient populations have long faced a documentation barrier: when the conversation happens in one language but the medical record needs to be in English, someone has to bridge that gap manually. Dragon Copilot 3.6 eliminates that barrier entirely — capturing clinical conversations in 58 spoken languages and generating notes in English. But multilingual support is just one of several landmark features in this release, which also introduces auto-generated clinical letters, diagnosis-aware ambient documentation, and a complete mobile nursing platform.

The Short Version

Dragon Copilot 3.6 is the most significant release in the product’s history. Clinicians can now conduct patient encounters in 58 languages with English notes generated automatically. Three new clinical letter types — consultation summaries, patient letters, and referral letters — are created from ambient recordings without manual effort. Ambient recording time extends to 120 minutes per session. And for nursing teams, a full mobile platform brings AI documentation to the bedside on iOS and Android.

Headline Features

Multilingual Clinical Note Generation — 58 Languages Physician

Dragon Copilot now supports 58 spoken languages for capturing patient-clinician conversations. The application interface remains in English, transcripts are written in the spoken language, and clinical notes are generated in English — automatically.

For organizations serving multilingual patient populations, this removes a significant documentation barrier. A conversation in Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, Arabic, or dozens of other languages produces an English clinical note without manual translation or interpreter-mediated documentation delays.

Voice Automated can assist with language configuration and deployment planning for your organization.

Auto-Generated Clinical Letters Physician

Dragon Copilot now generates three new clinical document types directly from ambient recording sessions:

  • Consultation summaries / letters to the GP — summarizing the encounter for referring physicians
  • Patient letters — direct written communication to the patient about their visit
  • Referral letters — documentation for specialist referrals

Letters appear in a new Documents section where clinicians review and edit before transferring to the EHR. They can be configured to auto-generate after every recording — meaning the documentation that typically takes minutes to write manually is produced automatically the moment the encounter ends.

Voice Automated can configure document types and auto-generation rules for your organization.

Diagnosis-Aware Ambient Documentation Physician

Ambient recording now captures, structures, and sends diagnosis information directly to the EHR as structured data. Assessment and Plan sections are organized around actual diagnoses, reducing manual structured data entry and improving downstream interoperability for billing, problem lists, and clinical decision support.

This feature bridges the gap between narrative AI documentation and the structured clinical data that health systems need for operational and financial workflows. Voice Automated can help assess your EHR environment’s readiness and coordinate activation.

120-Minute Ambient Recording Physician

The maximum ambient recording time per session increases from 75 minutes to 120 minutes. A notification appears when 30 minutes of recording time remain, and recording stops automatically at the limit.

This is a meaningful change for complex encounters — psychiatric evaluations, multidisciplinary team meetings, surgical consults, and lengthy patient histories that previously bumped against the 75-minute ceiling.

Physician & Clinician Features

Full Text Control in Microsoft Word & Outlook Physician

Dragon Copilot desktop now supports full text control in Microsoft Word (M365 desktop and non-M365 versions) and Outlook (non-M365 version). This enables advanced editing, precise text selection, intuitive navigation, and seamless dictation in the Office applications clinicians use daily — extending voice-driven documentation beyond the EHR.

Workflow Triggers from Mobile Mic Buttons Physician

Workflows can now be mapped to mobile mic buttons, adding a fourth trigger method alongside voice commands, keyboard shortcuts, and PowerMic buttons. This matches Dragon Medical One’s PowerMic Mobile behavior and gives clinicians maximum flexibility to launch automated actions.

Shared Customizable Templates Physician

Administrators can now create and publish standardized note templates at the organization, site, or group level. Clinicians select from these shared templates to streamline documentation and ensure consistency across departments. Shared templates are read-only for end users, maintaining organizational standards while reducing individual setup time.

Dictation Formatting & View Preferences Physician

Clinicians can now view and customize their dictation formatting preferences directly within Dragon Copilot after migrating from Dragon Medical One. Additionally, the desktop app now remembers your last-used view (compact, narrow, or normal) across sign-ins, and the view selector defaults to compact view for faster access — both designed to reduce friction for DMO users making the transition.

Customizable Template Performance Improvements Physician

Customizable templates receive performance, accuracy, and reliability improvements through optimized prompt handling and smarter system intelligence — delivering more consistent, high-quality documentation output.

Available in: Web, Desktop, Mobile, Embedded  |  US

For Dragon Medical One Users: Dragon Copilot 3.6 continues the DMO parity story: mobile mic workflow triggers match PowerMic Mobile behavior, dictation formatting settings are now viewable and customizable post-migration, and compact view persists across sessions. The gap between DMO and Dragon Copilot continues to narrow with every release — and DMO remains the proven foundation delivering measurable results today.

Nursing Platform Expansion

Dragon Copilot 3.6 represents the largest single expansion of the nursing experience, with a complete mobile platform, patient-centric workflows, and AI-powered shift management tools.

Dragon Copilot Mobile for Nurses Nursing

Nurses can now access Dragon Copilot’s full capabilities on iOS and Android mobile devices — bringing AI-assisted documentation directly to the point of care. The mobile app supports clinical information queries, pending care activity summaries at the bedside, and more.

Available in: Mobile (iOS, Android)  |  US

Patient-Centric Homepage & Comprehensive Patient View Nursing

The nursing experience introduces a unified, patient-centric homepage that organizes patients by most recent recording activity. Each patient card shows key details: name, gender, age, date of birth, medical record number, room number, and last transcript timestamp. From there, a comprehensive patient view brings together all recorded information, AI-generated notes, recent interactions, pending care summaries, and Copilot chat in a single hub.

Available in: Web, Desktop  |  US

Summary of Pending Care Activities Nursing

A concise, shift-based summary highlights pending care activities captured during patient interactions. The summary updates automatically after each recording — extracting new pending items and removing completed ones. Nurses can quickly identify follow-ups and next steps for each patient without reviewing individual transcripts, reducing cognitive load during busy shifts.

Available in: Web, Desktop  |  US

Nurse Note & Transcript Querying Nursing

A consolidated nurse note experience links each note to a single interaction’s transcript. Notes can be created, edited, and regenerated throughout the shift. Additionally, nurses can now ask natural-language questions across all patient transcripts from the current shift via Copilot chat — supporting recall with time-based reasoning, multi-session queries, and summarization.

Available in: Web, Desktop  |  US

Information Assist Expansion Nursing

Three capabilities broaden how nurses can get reliable answers within Dragon Copilot:

  • Multi-intent queries: Ask multiple related questions in a single request
  • Clinical coder integration: Request relevant ICD-10 codes directly
  • Safeguarded global search: When configured sources don’t provide an answer, a safety-reviewed web search fills the gap with citation-based responses

Available in: Web, Desktop  |  US

Android Support & Template Expansion Nursing

The embedded nursing experience now supports Android devices in addition to iOS, expanding platform coverage across health systems with diverse device strategies. Additionally, nurses can now document across an expanded set of ambient-enabled flowsheet templates, including restraints, blood administration, CIWA, admissions, discharge, and other screening templates.

Available in: Embedded EHR, Mobile  |  US

Flowsheet & Accuracy Management Improvements Nursing

Several admin-level improvements strengthen nursing deployment quality:

  • Configurable flowsheet row visibility: Organizations choose whether nurses see all available rows or only previously documented rows — critical for new patient admissions
  • Exclude items from extraction: Specific flowsheet rows, groups, macros, or LDAs can be excluded from ambient extraction without editing EHR content
  • Tune accuracy test case submission: Cases can now be submitted directly to Microsoft Clinical Integrity for review
  • Microsoft test case library: Curated default test cases by service line and role for onboarding new templates
  • Nursing analytics: New user engagement details dashboard for tracking individual adoption patterns

Available in: Embedded EHR, Admin Center  |  US

Implementation Tip

The nursing mobile platform, patient-centric homepage, and pending care summaries represent a fundamentally new way of working. Voice Automated recommends a phased rollout — starting with a pilot unit to validate workflows before scaling organization-wide. Our team can guide deployment planning, template expansion, and user acceptance testing.

Platform & Integration

Expanded FHIR API Integration Both

Dragon Copilot now accesses a broader set of structured EHR data through seven new FHIR API endpoints, including allergy information, clinical notes, medication orders, fill status, location data, and practitioner roles. This grounding in real patient data reduces clinician effort, minimizes omissions, and increases confidence in AI-generated documentation.

Voice Automated can coordinate the integration activation with your EHR team and ensure proper configuration for both physician and nursing experiences.
